Dr. Evan Harpster

I was born and raised in Fremont, Nebraska. I attended Nebraska Wesleyan University for my Bachelor of Science in Biology and German, where I was awarded the Gold Key award for highest GPA in my class. After college I accepted a prestigious Fulbright Grant that took me to Hamburg, Germany where I taught English for a year. Dental school brought me back home to the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry where I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery. My orthodontic training was completed at the University of Louisville in Kentucky, where I earned my Orthodontic Certificate and Master of Dental Science degree.

It’s hard to imagine a better job than being an orthodontist. I absolutely love it. You might expect to hear me say that my favorite part is seeing that brand new smile when the braces come off… Don’t get me wrong, that’s an awesome part of my job but what I love most is seeing the progress between each appointment. In dental school, I discovered that focus and patience are two of my biggest strengths and that orthodontics was a great way to put them to work. But honestly it hardly feels like work! I look forward to each day and every new opportunity to help someone achieve the smile they’ve always wanted.

In my free time I enjoy cooking, photography, yoga, long walks, and, in general, being outdoors. I have a voracious appetite for podcasts and audiobooks. As a speaker of German and Portuguese, I love to travel – especially to new countries. I think it’s also important to seek joy in life’s simpler pleasures; in my mind, nothing beats a perfectly ripe avocado, a warm chocolate chip cookie, or the first cup of coffee in the morning.
